Goal of the Activity

This activity was a part of the Social Inclusion Days - Fall 2020, which provides opportunities for international students to expand their knowledge on several topics regarding social inclusion. The goal of this post was to remind international students about the importance of our family. Even though we are usually thousands of miles away from our family during mobility programmes, we should never forget about them and we should make sure to contact them regularly to show them our appreciation and love.

Note: This activity was a part of the SID, because it was posted during the SID timeframe in an Instagram Story. However, we then also posted it in our Instagram after the end of the SID, because we wanted it to be permanent on our social media account.

Description

This ESN Coimbra post was more on the "funny" side, portraying what usually happens when students go out on mobility programmes. They tend to focus more on the fun and adventure that comes with a mobility programme, and they forget about the basics: eating properly, studying in time, wearing warm clothes to prevent them from getting sick, etc. In line with this, we decided to remind them to call their family, because we know how much our families worry with these things.

In line with the main publication, we also did a Family Quiz on our Insta Stories, with questions like:

  • When was the last time you told your parents you love them?
  • Have you called a loved one today?
  • Are you going to spend Christmas with your family, at home?
  • How many times per week do you call your loved ones?
  • When was the last time you joked with your sibling(s)?
  • Does your mum know what you had for dinner last night?

We got many responses to our insta stories!
