The main aim of the ESN Porto Scholarship is to financially support the mobility period of an outgoing student in need. Other side objectives include: creating awareness to the existence of ESN in their destinations, letting them know about our recruitment prospects, promoting ESN amongst stakeholders as a key to better mobility.
ESN serves numerous purposes. All the way from welcoming and integrating international students in unfamiliar cities to translating information, creating buddy programs, and ensuring the safety, integration, and satisfaction of these students are some of our top priorities. However, another vertent of these International Students is often overlooked. The needs of outgoing students, often Portuguese students pursuing a degree at home but seeking mobility programs abroad, are frequently overshadowed when compared to the actions ESN perfoms regarding Incoming Students. With that in mind and bearing all the dificulties outgoing students might face when studying abroad, ESN Porto has launched the ESN Porto Scholarship, which aims to donate a pecuniary value of 500€ to a national student in need, supporting and promoting outgoing mobility.
