We aimed to foster cultural exchange among Erasmus students while enjoying the beauty of nature and engaging in a memorable barbecue experience. Additionally, we were committed to leaving no trace and ensuring the pristine condition of the natural environment.
ESN Plovdiv organized a BBQ in Markovo. The activity commenced with an eco-friendly twist, as we boarded a bus in the morning to travel from Plovdiv to Markovo, encouraging participants to opt for public transportation and reduce their carbon footprint.
Upon arrival in Markovo, we ventured into the heart of the village to purchase our provisions for the day. With supplies in hand, we embarked on a journey to a picturesque meadow nestled within the enchanting forest. This idyllic location featured charming additions like a swing made from tree trunks, adding to the rustic charm of the day.
In this serene natural setting, we set up our barbecue and spent several delightful hours. The forest walk and barbecue allowed Erasmus students to bond, share stories, listen to music, and capture memories through photographs. We also ensured that our impact on the environment was minimal, as we diligently collected and disposed of all our waste in the village, leaving the meadow as pristine as we found it.
As the day drew to a close, we united for a group photo with the ESN flag, symbolizing the unity and spirit of our Erasmus community. A special highlight of the day was the presence of a participant with a drone, enabling us to capture breathtaking aerial photos and videos of our adventure, adding a unique and exciting dimension to our memories.
ESN Plovdiv's BBQ in Markovo was not only a journey through nature but also an opportunity for Erasmus students to connect, create lasting memories, and embrace sustainable travel practices. It was a day filled with laughter, friendship, and the beauty of Bulgaria's natural landscapes.
