Goal of the Activity

The main goal of this event was to promote social inclusion and celebrate diversity, especially diversity in sexual orientations and gender identities.

Description

⚡ What is Pride Month? In the night between 27th and 28th of June 1969 law enforcement raided into the Stonewall Inn, one of the most famous gay bar in the Greenwich Village in New York. Protests from arrested people became a simbol of rebellion: the "Stonewall Riots". The riots lasted for several days and are considered a turning point in the fight for civil rights. The year after some rally happened in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco to remember last year's riots. Year after year the number of cities joining the list of those participating in these event was rosing steadly, therefore Pride Month was established.  

🌈 Circolo Mario Miele, Circle of homosexual culture, takes care of the organization of pride in Rome from 1994.

This year, the pride will be on 11th of June from the starting point of Piazza Della Repubblica.
