The goal of the ESN101 is to provide a comprehensive and enriching training experience for members of ESN Türkiye sections, fostering their personal and professional growth while deepening their understanding of the organisation and its significance. Through a meticulously curated two-day program, participants delve into the historical roots of ESN, gaining insights into its profound relevance to professional endevours. Furthermore, they are equipped with essential soft skills, invaluable career insights, and mobility tips crucial for navigating post-university pathways.
ESN101 is one of the most important training events of ESN Turkiye and offers a great 2-day training experience to over 250 ESNers. The content includes the history of ESN, how ESN relates to professional life, soft skills, career and mobility tips. At ESN101, students not only learn new information about ESN, they are welcomed by the students of the hosting university and receive gifts and catering during their 2-day program, they can meet and expand their network with students from nearby cities who are all studying different departments at different universities, they can learn a lot about mobility programs such as Erasmus+ and they can improve their culture and language skills by meeting with foreign students. The 2-day agenda includes small sessions, workshops and presentations. The content is reinforced with texts and visuals explaining the agenda so that participants can better understand and familiarize themselves with the sessions.
Since ESN is located in 39 sections in different provinces of our country, it is organized physically in at least 2 different cities and online 2 times a year in order to involve all our members. In this event, our members with sufficient level and skills can organize workshops for other participants and experience first-hand the experience of being a trainer. During all activities, they can ask questions or leave a comment to the speaker at any time to ensure effective learning. At the end of this event, our certified members now have a basic knowledge about ESN, mobility programs, post-university careers and soft skills and are qualified to participate in the ESN201 training event.
Outcomes
Accessibility: The location of Istanbul maslak is very close to student-friendly transportation means such as metro, buses and transportation support from Istanbul Metropolitan municipality has made it very easy to reach the venue.
Comprehensive training: Through a detailed ESN training, participants learn about the ESN positions at local and national level, the committees at national level and their work and structures. They learn about ESN projects and events and how to integrate their experience into their career path.
Networking opportunities: during frequent and prolonged coffee breaks and energizers, students have the opportunity to meet different people and improve their communication skills
Alumni Talks: in this part of the event, participants learn about the current life paths of the invited guests who have already experienced ESN and how ESN has contributed to their lives. in a question and answer format, Alumni answer questions and share some of the inspiring events they experienced at ESN
IRO's high-level support: The International Relations Office of Gazi University and its staff, who supported ESN Gazi section both financially and morally and contributed to a large part of this training event, were among the important positive aspects of this event.
Accessibility: Considering Ankara's transport system and traffic, the fact that students do not have any difficulties in terms of transport and benefit from affordable prices and student discounts is one of the positive aspects of the event.
OC and wide network: Thanks to the wide network established in advance and the support received through sponsorship agreements, ESNers are offered an ESN101 experience with plenty of choice rights
NB Talks: Especially having this event on the agenda was one of the most praises we received from ESNers after the event. Participants were provided with an environment where they could ask any questions they wished about NB's work and their curiosities, and gained productive information about NB's duties and responsibilities and working environment.
