The main objective was to bring mobility closer to the people who usually do not know about it (people between 14 and 16 years old) by introducing them to the different mobility opportunities (not only Erasmus+) in a fun and entertaining way, with the ultimate aim of promoting interculturality and the additional value in their future of an international mobility.
Erasmus In Schools Camp, took place from the 12th to 14th of January 2024 in Palencia, in the spanish region of Castilla y León. It gathered 20 people, international volunteers from France, North Macedonia, Ireland and Spain, and young people between 14 and 16 years old from Tudela Del Duero (Valladolid). It was aimed to bring closer the interculturality that we enjoy during an international experience to local students in order to promote international mobility. It was about learning about cultures and languages, knowledge about exchange programmes and lots of fun for students through educational games. The main thematic was "Around the World in 3 days".
The participants target was composed by international volunteers from different organisation (ESN France, ESN Spain, OBESSU and EAM) and local students at 3rd and 4th year high school students as well as 1st and 2nd year Baccalaureate, Basic Vocational Training and Intermediate Vocational Training apprentices.
The international volunteers had the opportunity to create the Agenda and participate as monitors at this camp, learning how to promote and be Ambassador of International mobility.
To sum up, in this event the benefit was duplex: the local students had the opportunity to get in touch with international young people, their cultures and their experiences abroad; the international participants had the opportunity to get in touch with the local community and the spanish culture. For this reasons, the activities were carried out in English to ease the relationship between local and international participants.
