The main objective was to show the foreign students the special methods used in kindergarten, because in some of their home countries the people with ASD are hidden from society.
It was beneficial also for the kids as they felt different energy and could build up the relations non-language based. So both students and kids built a special connection during their presence in the class.
As it is mentioned in the name of the activity it was Erasmus in School. But it was extraordinary, because we put together Erasmus in Schools and people with disabilities. We have visited a kindergarten for the kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder. It was mainly focused on connecting the foreign students with the kids who are not speaking verbally. We had a special opportunity to see the connection between them even though they haven’t shared the same communication channel. The headmaster was really generous and thankful so she invited us to the music therapy. The foreign students could feel special by that time.
