Spain
participants
- To raise awareness of the possibilities that the European Union and, in particular, the ones that the European Parliament offer to young people.
- To gather the views of the Erasmus generation on the future of Europe, which can be used for the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE).
The topics discussed during the event were mainly formal and informal education of young people and environment. No specific workshops were held, as it was a constant dialogue, where the topics were chosen according to the tastes of the attendees.
On Friday afternoon, a brief presentation on CoFoE was given and then an activity was carried out to decide the main topics to be discussed on Saturday morning with the decision makers. This activity consisted of placing flip charts around the room in which the attendees had to write their opinions on these topics in posits. Once this was done, they all debated and decided on the following topics: environment and education and youth.
On Saturday morning, after introducing the decision makers, a debate was held on the topics chosen on Friday, this was led by the Secretary of ESN Spain, Jesús.
Achievements or decisions
Very interesting decisions were made, such as:
- The need for involvement of young people in both topics discussed, since there is information and means, but no interest.
- The lack of information results in a lack of opportunities and it is necessary to claim more opportunities.
- The need to obtain information in a simpler way and to make young people see that they can get information in a simple way, in order to improve interest.
- Policy is a reflection of our society, and it happens that, in sustainability, the objectives are realistic but not the ways to implement them.
- There are very few ways to measure, map and put into practice a correct implementation of sustainability objectives.
- It is necessary, through training, to create awareness in society about the just transition, where media and companies in Extremadura, as well as in Europe and Spain (which encompasses them), stop using plastics, waste or polluting and non-renewable materials.
