Goal of the Activity

The goal of the activity was to foster cultural and social reflection on the situation in Gaza, highlighting the violation of human rights affecting tens of thousands of people while promoting a message of hope, inclusion, and intercultural dialogue.

Description

The association L'Aquila Film Festival invited us to attend the screening of the documentary film "Erasmus in Gaza". This film tells the story of a medical student who, as the first person in the world, chose to spend his Erasmus mobility period in Gaza to specialize in emergency medicine. The events depicted take place in 2019, and the film explores the cultural and personal impact that this unique experience had on the young doctor.

Following the screening, a discussion was held with the film’s director and one of the individuals featured in the documentary, who is now a human rights lawyer.

This activity had a profound cultural and social impact, offering us the opportunity to reflect on the situation in Gaza, the violated rights of tens of thousands of people, and the ongoing humanitarian crisis. At the same time, it conveyed a message of hope, inclusion, and the importance of dialogue between different cultures.
