The goal of the activity was to broaden students’ understanding of European opportunities beyond the well-known academic Erasmus study programme. Through the “Erasmus and Beyond” event series, organised in collaboration with Europiamo, the initiative aimed to introduce local students to the wider landscape of programmes offered by the European Union—ranging from training and volunteering to professional development pathways. The project sought to empower students to imagine new trajectories for their personal and professional growth.
“Erasmus and Beyond” is a travelling series of events designed to reveal the wider constellation of European opportunities often overlooked by students in Italy. Together with Europiamo, we organised this activity inside the University of Turin where participants explored programmes they had never encountered before.
The sessions offered clear guidance, open discussion, and a space to ask questions about mobility, training, youth participation, and EU-funded initiatives. The project is part of GEN_E, a Youth Participation Activity supported by the European Commission and the Italian Youth Agency under Erasmus+. By bringing these encounters directly to universities across the country, the initiative invites students to step beyond the familiar and discover a broader European horizon.
