The goal of the activity is to teach erasmus people how the anthropic presence shapes the environment and to learn about the wildlife and nature of the modenese appennines making them see how that with their own Eyes
Starting in Modena, the event began at "Lago della Ninfa." From there, participants embarked on a hike with several stops to rest, take in the natural surroundings, and learn about the impact of human activity on the mountain environment. Thanks to our volunteers and educational signs provided by the city of Sestola, they discovered how human presence had shaped the area. Erasmus students learned about the hystory of the Woodlands on the mountains, that is in certain traits incontamineted, in certain traits is a forest formely used for silviculture with a significant and visible loss of biodiversity, and in certain traits it was destroyed to create a ski-slope. We also talked about the effects of climate change on the snowcap of the mountain, that used to be present from September to June but now in May the snow is already almost completely gone.
