Goal of the Activity

International Dinner brings together all the flavors from different countries. The event is supposed to bring people from different countries together over bites of amazing food from all around the world. Participants were local and incoming students. One of the goal is to promote mobility offers and information regarding this topic will be provided from volunteering ESN members. Sharing food from different cultures will give motivation to go abroad and experience new cultures.

Description

During the international dinner, local and international students were asked to bring a dish which is typical for their home country and to share it with other participants from different countries. The activity promotes intercultural exchange in the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of enjoying a meal together. The event specifically targets international students as well as local students who are interested in participating in a mobility program.

In the evening of 9.12.23, the team and guests met at a room of TU Wien. Most of the guests were members of ESN, Best, AIESEC or international students, who are currently studying in Austria. People brought food nd typical for their home country. Dishes from Romania, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Estonia, Czech Republic and other countries were represented. The theme was Christmas related and people also brought cookies, and also had the chance to decorate their personal gingerbread. Modern local music from different countries was played and dances were shown to each other.

The event was a fruitful occasion to promote mobility  by showing the cultural diversity of Europe and the positive atmosphere of inter-cultural interactions and exchanges. The event gave space for participants to discuss about their countries' traditions and culture promoting mobility to their countries and in general.
