Getting Erasmus, international students and ESN staff socialize through food and cooking, which for us is the best way to bring people together. Furthermore, in this way they can learn more about one of the most important aspects of Italy for Italians themselves.
ESN staff invited Erasmus students to have dinner at their home, in groups of two so they wouldn't go alone, cooking traditional Italian culinary delicacies. Erasmus and international students contributed by bringing drinks or dessert. Someone watched the staff prepare dinner, someone helped make homemade pasta, someone else took lots of photos.
We talked, laughed and joked, ate a lot and in the end several people went out into the square to end the evening on a high note. Someone else stayed home or went to sleep.
The official date was May 4th, but those who could not host that day made up for it in the following weeks, by making an agreement directly with the Erasmus students, to ensure that as many people as possible could have access to this beautiful experience.
