The goal of the Language course is to learn together. International students get the opportunity to learn the dutch language and the volunteering teachers get the opportunity to learn how to teach a language.
The Dutch Language Course of ESN Utrecht takes 13 weeks and there is a week without a lesson but with a fun activity to stimulate the group bonding within the classes. Each week, two teachers teach a class of about 25 students the dutch language. The participants get a booklet with exercises and the teachers get a booklet to use while teaching. Furthermore the teachers get two trainings to help with their teaching. And there are multiple gatherings with all the teachers together to discuss the teaching and other practical matters. At the end of the semester, participants and teachers both receive a certificate to celebrate all that they have learned. This semester, the course has 8 classes and 14 teachers.
