Goal of the Activity

The goal of this event is to introduce participants to the energetic and joyful tradition of Murga, a form of Argentinian carnival drumming and dancing, through an engaging and inclusive workshop.

Description

Try to drum and dance Murga with the international group Aarhuspanti on the 1st floor of the community house ”Trøjborg Beboerhus” at Tordenskjoldsgade 31 A 8200 Aarhus N (in the backyard)

Murga Porteña is an Argentinian kind of carnival. We perform at all kinds of different events and festivals to spread joy while having fun and showing off the Murga vibe. We dress up in comstumes called ”levitas” in Aarhuspanti's colours yellow and purple.

Maybe you have met Aarhuspanti at one of the International Students Fairs, participated in a workshop of Murga at Studenterhuset last Summer or maybe you have seen us perform around the streets of Aarhus.

Practical info for Murga try out:
Flexible pants good for dancing
indoor shoes or barefooted dancing is good
No prior drum skills or dancing knowledge needed for joining
We have earplugs available

After rehearsal it's possible to hang out a bit and buy a cheap beer or soda supporting Trøjborg Beboerhus

Normal rehearsals take place every Thursday at 17:20-19:00. It is free to participate.

The event is free, but please sign up to join!
We look forward to seeing you!
