Goal of the Activity
- - Students value their health (especially sight) more.
- - They are more tolerant to blind people and know how to help them when they for example see them crossing the street or getting on a bus.
- - They got to try some goggles simulating different types of blindness.
- - They now realize how hard everyday situations, such as paying with cash in the shops, may be difficult to blind people and they have also got familiar with some “life hacks” and gadgets blind people use.
Description
Exchange students got to experience dinner as a blind person, because they had to eat it blindfolded. Moreover, a blind man was invited to tell us and - of course - the students about the daily struggles of a person who has lost their sight. He was also so kind that he showed us some different sight-disease simulating glasses, which the students tried on after the dinner was over and they were allowed to take the masks off their eyes
