Goal of the Activity
Raise awareness about homelessness and facilitate a discussion about two dilemmas the Salvation Army is facing in relation to homelessness in the Netherlands; migration and a growing housing shortage.
Description
In collaboration with the Salvation Army, we hosted an event where participants learned about the system and organisations involved in efforts to combat homelessness in the Netherlands. A guest speaker from the Salvation Army also introduced Herstart, an initiative active directly in Utrecht, described its daily functioning and informed participants about volunteering possibilities.
Their presentation was followed by a discussion about solutions to handling two key dilemmas of the Salvation Army.
