Goal of the Activity

The goal of the activity is to acquaint international students with the structure of Czech Easter traditions and embrace international talk about such holiday from different countries

Description

Czech Easter was an event held to show Erasmus students pieces of our culture they might not be able to experience another way. During the event, we concentrated on concrete traditions that follow the whole Easter traditions in the Czech Republic.

There were prepared three stations with different topics. At one table people had a chance to try to knit their willow sticks, another station contained a decoration of easter eggs either by scratching, painting, or decorating with flowers or stickers and the last stop smelled after raisins and marmalade because the volunteers there prepared a traditional food called trhanec. Besides trhanec participants could also try different Easter foods. ¨

During the whole event, volunteers were there to speak about the traditions they were following and share their opinions on whether we should keep digging in the past or maybe move to a better future. We could also compare the traditions happening in other countries and listen to some nice music.
