The main aim of the Communication Summit (CM) was to enhance the skills and knowledge of the volunteers in ESN Lisboa’s Communication and Marketing department while promoting collaboration and team spirit. By equipping participants with practical tools and creative strategies, the event aimed at empowering them to better represent the ESN brand and effectively execute communication initiatives within the organization.
The objectives of this event were many. Firstly, it aimed to provide tailored training sessions on key communication and marketing topics, such as branding, creative content creation, design, and strategy, ensuring participants gained valuable skills directly applicable to their roles. Secondly, the CM sought to facilitate the integration of new members into the department, creating a supportive environment that would help them feel welcomed and confident in their contributions.
Another important objective was to promote knowledge sharing by opening the event to all ESN Lisboa volunteers on the second day. This ensured the learnings reached a wider audience and enhancing the overall capacity of the section. Additionally, the summit was hosted at ISEG to strengthen institutional ties with this partner university, showcasing ESN Lisboa’s commitment to high-quality and collaborative initiatives.
Moreover, the event prioritized engagement with the network by inviting expert trainers from ESN Portugal and other sections. This not only ensured high-quality training but also created valuable connections and knowledge exchange within the network. Finally, the summit aimed to empower participants to think creatively and strategically when approaching communication challenges, encouraging innovation and fresh perspectives in their work.
The purpose of the Communication Summit was to create a platform for professional growth, collaboration, and innovation, ensuring that ESN Lisboa’s volunteers were well-prepared to communicate the organization’s mission and values effectively.
The Communication Summit was a two-day event designed to deepen the knowledge and enhance the skills of volunteers in the Communication and Marketing department of ESN Lisboa. It also aimed to integrate new members who joined the department at the beginning of February, fostering collaboration and team spirit.
The event happened during the weekend of 24 and 25 of February. On both days the sessions happened during the morning and afternoon (between 10a.m. and 6p.m.).
This event combined training sessions and interactive workshops, making it a short version of a Training Course. It provided both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience across various topics in communication and marketing, tailored to the needs of our volunteers and to the reality of ESN.
The event's overarching theme was "Empowering Creativity in Communication", meaning that the sessions focused on equipping participants with the skills necessary to develop innovative communication strategies and effectively represent the ESN brand. Topics ranged from branding and creative thinking to content creation and design, ensuring a well-rounded approach to communication challenges.
On the first day, the event was exclusively for members of the Communication and Marketing department, fostering a friendly environment for focused learning and team building. On the second day, the event was opened to all ESN Lisboa volunteers, broadening its impact.
The summit was hosted at ISEG, a key partner university, which provided a professional setting and strengthened our institutional relationship with them. Additionally, the event featured expert trainers from across the ESN network, including the former Marketing Manager of ESN Portugal and two professionals from ESN Tomar, who shared their expertise through engaging and informative sessions.
By focusing on creativity, strategy, and practical development, the Communication Summit successfully provided a platform for volunteers to grow, collaborate, and innovate, aligning perfectly with the mission of ESN and the goals of the Training award.
