We organized a small chess tournament to provide a little bit of fun to international students in Siena, during the lockdown due to Covid
On 27th, 28th and 29th of January we organized the first chess tournament, using an online site. The 19 partecipants could subscribe to the activity with a google form, and a sorting pool has been made to decide the two person who will play one against each other. A whatsapp group has been created with the partecipant and the ESN staff to explain the rules of the game and how the tournament will be made, using also video tutorials about the site; the players then sent the result of each game on the whatsapp group. The final has been played live on 29th of January using google meet, and 20 people watched it. The winner, from Belgium, received as first prize a t-shirt of the city of Siena, while the guy who arrived at the second place won a bracelet of the city.
