Clothes will be bought with pencils. In this way, the pencils that are collected will be the ones that go directly to Senegal and this contribute to the education of young people. We collaborate with the NGO Ecodesarrollo Gaia and its "Pencils for Senegal" project.
Every Sunday during 2 months, Erasmus could help the children from Senegal by purchasing clothing items at the Charity Market that we organised at one of our partners facilities.
International students, aswell as local students and other friend organizations donated clothes so we could sell them at the market. They also were able to acquire other clothes, shoes, bags and any fashion related item that they wanted by donating packs of pencils.
Outcomes
We had a few interviews in the radio and in the newspapper (https://www-laopinioncoruna-es.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.laopinioncoru…)
- We linked the activity with the Sustainability, Social Inclusión and Education & Youth (the pencils were to provide supplies in order for children in Senegal to be able to get an education. But also being able to talk first hand with people from the NGO that went to Senegal gave us an amazing and new point of view about the reality on African Countries (Cultural).
