The objective of the event was to make participants aware of the issue of physical and mental health, and therefore of the importance of medical check-ups and prevention. However, the main objective was to show how anyone can do what they want and that an illness or disability is not a reason for a lack of "social inclusion". In fact, in this regard, a space has been dedicated to discussing the rights of those with an "invisible disability" and the rights that those who have suffered from an illness should have. A disability or an illness must not be grounds for exclusion or discrimination.
The main organizer of the event was "ESN Ancona", in collaboration with the non-profit association "C'è tempo OdV". The event took place at "Teatro Sperimentale" thanks to the patronage of the Municipality of Ancona. In addition, there was the support and patronage of the "Croce Rossa Italiana Comitato Regione Marche". The event was organized in two parts: the first part was a theater show in which Laura who had cancer told her story; the second part was an awareness conference on the oncological theme, but not only. In this last part, the President of ESN Ancona spoke and introduced the values of Erasmus and mobility, including the importance of unity in diversity and cooperation for integration. Subsequently, doctors raised awareness on the subject of prevention, medical check-ups and radiotherapy techniques. Finally Laura explained the current Italian legislation for those who have had cancer and recovered, she made us discover the reality of the "oncological right to be forgotten", a right for which "C'è tempo OdV" is fighting, because those who have suffered from cancer must be included in society and must not have fewer rights or opportunities than others due to a disease they did not choose to have.
