Cafe Lingua is a weekly event arranged by the Languages and Communication Unit in cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and Talent Boost. Both Finnish and international people get to meet each other, socialize, learn about different cultures, and practice different languages in a casual and fun way.
The event is open to all! Whether you are a student, a staff member, or simply a resident of the Oulu region interested in meeting people from other cultures, you are welcome to join!
EVERY WEDNESDAY, 17.00-19.00 @ Restaurant Napa, Linnanmaa campus
The activities in the events vary, but you will be able to discuss contemporary or otherwise fascinating topics and play board games, for example, as well as create stronger bonds with people from different cultures. The languages represented in Cafe Lingua depend on the participants, but you can expect to hear and learn languages such as Finnish, English, German, Russian, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Swedish, Chinese and Arabic. Cafe Lingua is also a great place to meet someone with whom you can do Tandem Studies, so keep that in mind!
