To strengthen the connection between mentors and mentees through fun and interactive activities that promote trust, empathy, and understanding while also raising awareness about the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals.
The Buddy Bonding Event was organized to help mentors and mentees get to know each other better and create a sense of community within the Erasmus network. With around 25 participants, the event began with an open and friendly conversation where everyone introduced themselves and shared their experiences, setting a warm and welcoming atmosphere. After the initial chat, participants were divided into pairs for a unique and engaging activity, one person’s eyes were covered while the other guided them through drawing a picture using only verbal instructions. The task sparked laughter, creativity, and teamwork, but also carried a deeper meaning: it encouraged participants to think about the experience of visual impairment and the importance of clear communication and trust. By the end of the event, both mentors and mentees had not only bonded through fun challenges but also reflected on empathy, patience, and inclusion. The activity successfully combined social connection with meaningful awareness — turning a simple game into an opportunity for understanding and friendship.
