Providing valuable insights about discrimination to a broader audience and providing local-level volunteers with a more accessible and affordable opportunity to join an international event and foster connections with volunteers from neighbouring NO's
BNG is a training initiative organised by ESN Belgium, ESN The Netherlands and ESN Germany. Ths training event was focused on strengthening the participants' ability to not only identify discrimination, but also to prevent it and speak up. Further, inclusivity and possible biases/barriers in an ESN context were discussed. The learnings can be implemented in inclusive events and by sensitising other volunteers about prevailing stigmata regarding gender and race. Such insights are invaluable in an intercultural and increasingly polarised society.
