The goal of the activity was collecting donations for the Split County League against Cancer, making people aware of the importance of preventive check-ups and men's health care. The main goal of the activity was to fight for men's oncological health and reaching the hearts and minds of young people.
Split Beard Auction is a humanitarian action for collecting donations intended for the Split County League against Cancer, with the simple goal of making people aware of the importance of preventive check-ups and men's health care. The Beard Auction started in 2017 collecting around 27,000 and over 240,000 HRK in donations in the first four years. However, a record amount was collected at this year's edition, 336 631,05 HRK (approx. 44 705 euros).
The Split County League Against Cancer will spend this year's donation educating the public about the importance of preventive examinations.
ESN Split wanted to be part of the action and contribute to its own people, so we organized karaoke night two days in advance of the big event and all the income from participation fees (20 HRK per person, and more if wanted) was donated to the Beard Auction. We were also collecting donations during the days before the event took place. Our section succeeded to contribute with a donation of almost 500 euros.
