Goal of the Activity

The purpose of the event is to live a blindfolded experience to raise awareness among Erasmus towards the social inclusion of people with visual disabilities.

Description

Starting from Piazza Bra we blindfolded the Erasmus and guided them towards the Pizzeria close by. During the walk, they experienced walking blind and dealing with the architectural barriers. In the pizzeria, they had to cut, eat, and pour the drinks by themselves. It was a really funny and reflective experience because all those things are normal for them, but they understood that it isn't that easy once you are blinded and you have to take into consideration more things. Everyone was enthusiastic about this experience and a lot of them said they never thought that just eating blind could have been that difficult. The people in Piazza Bra were amazed and curious about a long queue of people holding hands blinded and asked us what we were doing. Once we told them about this social inclusion activity, they told me that it was something they would like to try too.
