Goal of the Activity

By coming together to clean up our beaches, we demonstrate our commitment to preserving our natural resources and protecting marine ecosystems.

Description

The volunteer Beach Cleaning aims to highlight the importance of environmental stewardship and civic engagement, as part of ESN's Social Impact Days, Spring 2024. Join us for this meaningful initiative co-organized by our partner NGO "ATAXTOI", known for their impactful actions, including providing coverage of basic needs to vulnerable social groups, caring for stray animals, and environmental preservation efforts. Together, we'll roll up our sleeves, make a positive impact on our environment, and contribute to creating cleaner and healthier beaches for everyone to enjoy.

What to Expect:

  • Hands-On Cleaning: Get ready to get your hands dirty as we work together to pick up litter, debris, and other pollutants from the beach shoreline.
  • Data Collection: We will meticulously record and categorise all the trash collected during the cleanup to identify patterns and determine the most commonly discarded items in the beach area. This data will be crucial for informing and advocating for targeted actions by relevant organisations to address the root causes of marine pollution.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work alongside fellow volunteers, exchange students, and local community members as we collaborate to tackle the task at hand and make a tangible difference.
  • Environmental Education: Learn about the environmental impact of marine pollution and the importance of responsible waste management practices through informative discussions and activities.
