For international students to learn about and actively contribute to local social initiatives, in this case, visiting the facilities of the ASPROAN dog shelter and taking some of the shelter's dogs for walks. Participants also contribute through donations (usually dog food) as a fee for the activity.
Once at the Meeting Point, the volunteers drove the students to the shelter. We entered the shelter with the international students, and they handed out the food and toys they had brought. While they gave us the dogs, the participants interacted with them.
Once outside the shelter, we walked to a dog park along the coast, where they could play with the dogs and rest or talk so the students could get to know each other better. Since it started raining early, we were barely able to stay at the park and had to return to the shelter to return the dogs and drive back to the Meeting Point.
