Goal of the Activity

The main goal was to make the mobility period in Trento more environmentally friendly!
The University of Trento promoted a series of activities addressed to international incoming students to raise awareness among participants on the importance of adopting sustainable behaviours to reduce the impact on the host city.
The activity was held at the Civic Museum of Rovereto with a guided visit to the section of the Museum dedicated to climate change and the laboratory “Your dinner matters!” where they learnt, through a practical activity, how the food they eat affects the environment.

Description

The group once arrived at the Civic Museum has been escorted by a museum guide in an educational laboratory for a group activity including a board game and a presentation focused on pollution and the environmental impact of the eating habits of individuals.
Michela, the girl who represented the University of Trento and that accompanied us, presented the series of sustainability-themed events proposed by the University and asked those present for support in creating a logo for these events. The game was played in teams; each team had to choose among the nourishments proposed to create a dinner as complete and sustainable as possible. After the initial choice, some brief explanations on how the production of the foods in question impacts the environment were made by the guide and the teams were allowed to review the choices made; then the latter was exhibited and compared. Later, with the presentation, the guide explored these issues, focusing on the foods that cause greater exploitation of the environment and giving practical advice to make one's diet as healthy and “green” as possible. After the activity, which lasted about an hour and a quarter, the guide allowed us to visit the museum (guiding us for the zoological part) in all sections.
