Goal of the Activity

Have you ever thought about how the skills you’ve gained here at ESN could shape your future career, whether in academia or in the private sector?

Many of us dive into associations like ESN for the experience, the connections, and the chance to contribute to something meaningful. But here’s the big question: Are we fully aware of the value of the soft skills we’re developing in this process?

Think about it: leadership, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving—these are not just buzzwords. They’re the very skills that employers, research teams, and even startup founders are actively looking for.

Let me give you an example:
Imagine you’re leading a project in ESN. You’re coordinating between people from different cultural backgrounds, resolving conflicts, and ensuring everyone stays on track. Does that sound familiar? Now picture that same scenario, but this time you’re leading a research team on a groundbreaking project or managing a team in a corporate setting. The skills you’ve already honed in ESN can seamlessly translate to these roles.

This workshop is about bridging the gap. It’s about identifying the soft skills you’ve already mastered and learning how to effectively communicate and apply them in academic and private environments.

So here’s what we’ll tackle today:

  • How to identify and articulate your soft skills.
  • Practical examples of these skills in action, tailored to both academia and the corporate world.
  • And finally, strategies to make your experiences here at ESN a standout feature on your CV or during an interview.
  •

Are you ready to uncover the hidden power of your ESN journey? Let’s dive in and make your skills work for you!

Description
