For "Saturday Dinner," we transformed Spapizar, one of L'Aquila's most renowned restaurants, into a haven of Abruzzese culinary delights!
On Saturday, the 23rd, at 9 pm, we gathered a group of up to 10 international students for a unique dining experience. Spapizar's menu, carefully curated for our event, showcased the very essence of Abruzzo's rich culinary heritage.
Imagine indulging in steaming plates of "spaghetti alla chitarra," a local pasta specialty with a square-shaped profile, tossed with a flavorful tomato sauce. Perhaps you savored the "arrosticini," succulent skewered lamb pieces grilled to perfection, or the "chianine," a melt-in-your-mouth beef dish native to the Abruzzo region. Each course was accompanied by brief and engaging explanations provided by our enthusiastic volunteer team. They delved into the history and significance of each dish, offering fascinating insights into Abruzzo's traditional cooking methods and local ingredients.
This wasn't just a meal; it was an interactive culinary journey that allowed our international students to discover the soul of Abruzzo on their plate. Beyond the delicious food, the relaxed atmosphere and lively conversation fostered a sense of community and cultural exchange.
