Goal of the Activity

The goal of this excursion was to introduce international students to the most famous natural phenomenon in Croatia - the Plitvice Lakes. Emphasis was placed on the importance of preserving national parks, biodiversity and nature in general, and promoting sustainable tourism. Also, the students were reminded how active spending their free time in nature is beneficial for the mind and body.

Description

It is the perfect time to visit "the pearl of continental Croatia" - the National Park Plitvice lakes ! 🌲 🏞

The lakes became a protected national park back in 1949, and since 1979 the place is also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This wonderful natural phenomenon consists of 16 interconnected lakes and over 90 waterfalls of different sizes.

Thanks to easy walking trails, wooden bridges over the turquoise water and stunning viewpoints - Plitvice is one of the most visited sites in Croatia.
