Goal of the Activity
The aim of the activity was to show our international students what are and how to cook torrijas, a traditional Spanish dessert typically made during Holy Week.
Description
Torrijas are made by soaking slices of stale bread in a mixture of milk, eggs and sugar, and then frying them in olive oil until golden brown. Then, they are typically served dusted with cinnamon or drizzled with honey or syrup. They have a soft, custardy interior and a crispy exterior, and are often enjoyed as a breakfast or dessert food. International students were separated into groups to learn how to cook these sweet custardy delicacies and at the end we enjoyed all together eating them.
