Our main goal was to support the visibility and inclusion of people with Down syndrome by engaging with and promoting the Tebessüm Cafe, where people with Down syndrome worked as waiters. Through this visit, we aimed to raise awareness of the importance of creating inclusive working environments and to celebrate the valuable contributions that people with disabilities make to our community. By participating, we hoped to foster a deeper sense of social responsibility and empathy among our club members, while showing support for a business that was committed to diversity and accessibility.
As ESN Nisantasi, we were excited to show our support for the café's mission and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the staff. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and positivity as we interacted with the staff, learned about their experiences and enjoyed delicious food and drinks. Our visit was not only an opportunity to promote inclusivity, but also to raise awareness of the importance of equal opportunities for all, regardless of ability. Overall, the event was a meaningful and memorable experience for all involved.
