Sections of three Brno universities (MUNI, VUT, MENDELU) closely cooperate on some activities for exchange students, on educating and supporting their members, and on the organization of bigger events for both incoming and local students.
We as the local boards are very happy about this cooperation and value it a lot. We wanted to connect board members, active members, and new members across sections, provide an opportunity for creating friendships, share our best practices, create interest for more active involvement and potential future board candidacies, and reward the hard work of our members.
These goals fit into a traditional structure of typical section teambuilding with a schedule full of getting to know each other, games and sports, healthy competitiveness, and educating about the structure and values of ESN.
The main difference was in mixing section members on purpose - participants were divided into teams, where each team consisted of members of all three sections and had both experienced and new members. We learned specifically about the common and diverse practices of our work. The team building and all official communication were in English to include our non-native speakers.
We have named our teambuilding Festival jako Brno and followed the chosen theme. We have cooked and cleaned by ourselves to be self-sufficient and train cooperation and followed best practices of environmental sustainability.
By organising this activity, the organisers want to contribute to the following Sustainable Development Goals
