This activity aimed at bringing together the local community and the volunteers and students of SPEAK, which is managed by ESN Coimbra, through a night of board games at Casa das Artes Bissaya Barreto. This art gallery hosts regular board game nights for locals, so joining forces with them provided an opportunity to bring the international student community in Coimbra closer to the local community, while at the same time providing an informal setting for them to practice the languages they are learning, especially Portuguese.
International students and locals played board games (provided by Casa das Artes or brought by the participants themselves) together.
This game night allowed SPEAK students to practice Portuguese and other languages in an informal, fun setting. At the same time, these students had the opportunity to meet and play with locals.
