The goal of Social Cinema is to explore and appreciate Spanish cinema while providing a platform for cultural exchange and dialogue. By showcasing the film "Upon Entry," which delves into the complex themes of immigration and the US border, the activity aims to spark meaningful discussions and deepen students' understanding of these important societal issues. Through this cinematic experience, participants have the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking conversations, gain insights into Spanish culture, and foster a greater sense of empathy and awareness towards global issues. Ultimately, the activity seeks to promote cross-cultural understanding and solidarity among Erasmus students, empowering them to become more informed and empathetic global citizens.
We met at Residencia Jiménez Fraud where, in its screening room, we watched the film and then had a brief discussion about it.
