The goal of our events is to help students get to know the city and it's surroundings.
Also we want to bring them together to find new friends and get to know other cultures, for this we organize different events like parties, trips, sports events and many more.
We published the event with this description:
Winter is coming ... So let's go skiing!
We will go to Garmisch-Partenkirchen to spend a fun day together in the snow.
The Garmisch-Classic ski area combines the three ski mountains Hausberg, Kreuzeck and Alpspitze. Slopes with different difficulties are offered.
On the local mountain, the slopes are mostly blue and red and are therefore perfect for relatively inexperienced skiers and snowboarders. The slopes below the Alpspitz summit offer the right challenge for all skill levels and also an impressive Alpine panorama, since the slopes are above the tree line and thus allow a clear view of the surrounding winter landscape.
The Kreuzeck-Berg is the "place to be" for ambitious skiers and real professionals. The absolute highlight is the legendary Kandahar descent. Sections such as the free fall with a 92 percent gradient let the adrenaline pump up. With two variants, the seven-kilometer-long piste leads down to the valley station of the Kreuzeckbahn over a difference in altitude of 1,800 meters. If the difficult passages are too much for you, you can get off the descent at the middle station of the Kandahar Express.
Attention: Not for beginners! There is no possibility for a ski course! You do need to be able to take a lift by yourself and to ride down at least a blue slope safely. Don't worry, you don't have be an experienced skier but this should not be the first time for you standing on ski. Different slope difficulties are offered in the ski area. Please be advised the tutors are no professional or certified teachers and everybody is responsiblefor themselves.
Included in the participant fee is the train ride from Munich to Garmisch and the Liftpass. There is the possibility to rent equipment directly at the location. Equipment is not included in this event's price and has to be paid at the location individually, tutors will help with the renting. You must plan without roughly another 50€ for a full set of equipment.
Pls. note: If the railway line MUC-Garmisch is still closed (due to the train accident in June) we will go to the alternative ski area Sudelfeld!
The meeting point will be visible for registered participants.
