The objective of this collaborative activity was to facilitate a meeting between the volunteers and board members of ESN Milano IULM and ESN Lugano. We wanted to consolidate existing relationships and allow for a mutual exchange of experiences and perspectives between the two sections.
Another fundamental purpose was to initiate a practical and useful discussion. We wanted to show how the time spent volunteering and international mobility experiences can concretely improve the professional profiles of the participants.
We met at 8:10 A.M. at Milano Centrale Station and took the 8:43 A.M. train, arriving in Lugano at 10:00 A.M. During the morning, we connected with ESN Lugano for a cultural city tour, exploring the parks, the Cathedral, the city center, and the LAC arts center. Afterward, we proceeded to USI University where we had lunch in the room reserved for our afternoon activities.
The afternoon session began with brief presentations from both sections (ESN Lugano and ESN Milano IULM), followed by interactive games designed to build trust and enhance our soft skills. The central part of the event was a practical panel discussion focused specifically on how to leverage mobility programs and traineeship experiences to enhance our CVs.
We shared actionable, real-world insights into high-demand fields like Artificial Intelligence and Communications Management, starting a productive debate among volunteers from two different countries about turning international activities into concrete professional skills for the modern world of work. Following the training, we enjoyed a recreational moment together, visiting the local Christmas markets, which provided an excellent opportunity for informal networking and shared fun before returning home on the 7:02 P.M. train.
