The goal of the activity was to explain to our Erasmus students how recycling works in Parma.
The activity begins with a brief introduction to the topic of recycling and its impact on the environment, followed by an overview of the main waste-sorting rules adopted by the Municipality of Parma. This engaging and informative moment is designed to provide participants with practical tools and greater awareness, encouraging more sustainable behaviors in daily life.
To organize the event, we collaborated with the tutors of the Casa del Parco, arranging the room reservation and their participation as trainers during the workshop. Thanks to their guidance, participants were able to create combs made from recycled plastic bottle caps, discovering how waste materials can be transformed into useful and functional objects.
After this hands-on activity, participants – divided into small groups – explored their creativity through an artistic upcycling workshop, using recycled and repurposed materials to design original and meaningful artworks. Each group then presented its creation, accompanied by a reflection on the message the artwork aimed to convey.
The plastic caps brought by participants played a key role both in the creation of the combs and in the artistic activities, reinforcing the idea that even small everyday objects can enjoy a second life.
