The aims of the activities were different:
-raise awareness of the impact of our consumption on the planet
-clean up a green area and rigenerate it for the local community
-introduce our international students to the most important environmental italian association, Legambiente.
In occasion of the international campaign Let's Clean the World and of ESN Italy campaign Green Week, we took part to a clean-up organized by Legambiente. Let's Clean the World is a campaign that aims to clean and regenerate degraded areas so that they can be returned to the local population. In our country, it is promoted by Legambiente and ESN Italy is one of the adhering associations.
Concerning the event, firstly the volunteers of the Legambiente Pisa introduced the association to our international students and then we carried on with the clean-up. There were also volunteers from Croce Rossa Italiana (Italian Red Cross) and Pro Loco Coltano (a local association) as well as local citizens and family. We managed to collect 40 bags of rubbish.
