Goal of the Activity

The activity was designed to help international and local students connect socially and culturally by giving them a relaxed, informal space to interact, work together, and discover the host city. Through group challenges and guided stops at well-known local spots, the event sought to ease cross-cultural communication, spark new friendships, and strengthen students’ sense of belonging and well-being within the community.

Description

The Bucharest Pub Crawl was created as a social-cultural experience meant to bring international and local students together, giving them a chance to meet, connect, and discover Bucharest’s lively nightlife. Participants followed a planned route through a mix of well-known and tucked-away pubs, each with its own character—from classic Romanian taverns to contemporary cocktail spots.

The evening kicked off at the historic Hanul lui Manuc, where students were greeted, split into teams, and briefed on the challenges and guidelines for the night. As they moved from place to place, teams took part in themed activities, icebreakers, and point-based games that promoted interaction, teamwork, and a playful atmosphere. The crawl wrapped up at El Comandante Club, where scores were counted, winners announced, and the celebration carried on with music and dancing.

Blending social engagement with cultural discovery, the event helped cultivate a sense of community, encouraged intercultural exchange, and supported students in feeling more integrated into the local setting.
