We decided to take part in the National day for forest recovery, organized by Lesy ČR, as ESN Brno United to contribute to the environment and the local community.
It was in Stará Dálnice park, which lacked trees after the spread of a illness brought by a parassite this summer. We brought 20-25 Erasmus students from the 3 universities, the meeting point was the Stará Dálnice bus stop. Arrived at the site, an English speaking forest guard took care of our group and already provided us the trees. Each participants could plant only 2 trees each, because there were so many other people who wanted to participate.
There were a bit of problems with the coordination on the spot but the overall the activity was successful. In the whole Czech Republic around 31 000 people participated and planted around 162 000 trees which has a great impact on the environment and the Nature.
