The goal of the activity was to offer international students living in Madrid the posibility to do some sports outdoors in order to promote both physical and mental health while meeting other international students and ESNrs
The District of Carabanchel (Madrid) organizes outdoor group sports classes for people of all ages. After our volunteers tested the activity we reached out to the organizer and they were excited for us to bring some international students for the following class, thus this activity.
On Saturday October 24th a group of 10 international students came to the Park Emperatriz Maria de Austria where three ESN volunteers were waiting for them. After helping them enroll in the activity, everyone got a marked space in order to leave the required distance due to Covid-19 safety measures.
Then a professor provided by the District of Carabanchel tought a 2h class of Zumba. Both the international students and the volunteers enjoyed the activity very much, they showed interest aswell on the next Zumba class so we hope to be able to keep doing these activities twice a month.
