Description
The Olimpiadas Solidarias consisted of sports competitions in four different sports: football, basketball, volleyball and athletics. This sporting event serves to elect the representatives of the NEG, so the rules and the number of participants per team were already stipulated. We created a set of rules for each sport, but always taking into account the rules of the NEG. The Olimpiadas lasted three days, during which different competitions were held:
- On the first day, Monday, February 19, the soccer and basketball games were held. There were four soccer teams, and a "round-robin" phase was held. Six games were planned but only five were played, leaving the last game for Wednesday, February 21, the day scheduled for the finals.
- At the same time, basketball games were also held, with two teams playing best of three games. Since one of the two teams won the first two games, it was proclaimed the winner of the competition without the need for a third game.
- On the second day, February 20, the volleyball matches were held. With three teams, only four matches were needed and a final was held on the same day. Simultaneously, the 100m track and field competition was held in the Parque de las llamas, since no one had registered for the 1000m.
- On the last day, February 21, the soccer finals and the match that could not be played on Monday were held.
