Our goal was entertaining the international students and our ESN members by watching a discussing movies together.
The learning objective was improving the international students' listening skills in Italian. The movie was seen in Italian, its original language, with the help of sbtitles. Another objective was to develop a critical thought of the movie and susbequently engage in a conversation with the others to present their opinions on the movie.
The movie was chosen with a poll on our Instagram profile page. The movie with the most vote was "Tutta Colpa di Freud". We suggested everyone to download an add-on component for Google Chrome called Netflix Party. This extension allows to keep the video of all viewers synced and also shows a chat on the side of the screen to talk comfortably while watching the movies. There were no complications during the watch and the movie was greatly enjoyed by everyone. The international student, according to their words, were able to follow about 70% of the dialogues but fully comprehended the plot. We conisder the event was a success.
