This event was part of ESN’s Social Impact Days, following up on the "Mental Games: Free Yourself & Express" event from September. Focused on building self-acceptance and appreciating our abilities and emphasizing on helping youth recognize and understand new emotions—and learn how to deal with them.
We kicked things off by exploring emotions that people often overlook or don’t recognize, helping everyone discover new feelings they might not have known they were experiencing. Then, we had a session where we checked in on how much participants appreciated their lives and the good things they have. After that, we introduced simple ways to help everyone feel more grateful and truly appreciate what they’ve got. To wrap things up, we had a hands-on session where participants could put their new skills into practice and see how much they’d learned.
Outcomes
- Participants discovered new emotions they hadn't recognized before and learned that many of them didn’t have a high level of appreciation for what they have. They also explored fresh ways to feel more grateful and value the good things in their lives.
