The goal of this activity was to open the elderly to a new culture and break the stereotypes that they had on Brazil. Also, international students had the chance to present their country to people that know little or nothing about Brazil.
We arrived at the retirement home, we first presented the organization ESN. Then, international students introduced themselves and made their presentations on Brazil (with a Powerpoint).
After that, we did masks for carnival. Before going to the activity, the civic service prepared pattern (masks shape) so that elderly just had to put feathers, glitter and colors to do the most beautiful carnival mask.
The activity was a moment of exchange and questioning between international students and elderly. But also, international students got to practice French and to share with elderly.
