The purpose of the event was to introduce the Erasmus students to an wonderful Bulgarian holiday - March 1st or Baba Marta.
Тo explore the idea of the holiday, where it comes from,how it was created and the most exciting thing - to teach them how to make martenitsa themselves, which in the end they could give to someone.
The event was held at Plovdiv University Paisii Hilendarski,who provided us with a Hall in which we held an informative presentation about the holiday and the martenitsa.Then we had a demonstration of how martenitsi are made and finally we continued with their production.Each student had the opportunity to do as many martenitsi as he wanted.
We had a lot of fun trying to do diferent types of martenitsi - a bracelet type and Pizho and Penda.
